Dr. Katalina | A Kindergartener with a Rancher’s Heart & a Vet’s Dream!
It’s never too early to start dreaming—and never too early to start documenting those dreams for your children. Katalina is a bright and spirited kindergartener with a heart already set on becoming a veterinarian. Raised on a ranch, surrounded by animals and loved by her family, she’s growing up with dirt on her boots, love in her heart, and a clear purpose in her eyes.
We scheduled her session in the early morning to capture those soft, dreamy clouds that now compliment my branding. The skies did not disappoint, and neither did Katalina. We used aa custom “Dr. Katalina” sign and she wore everything from a white eyelet|scalloped dress and cowgirl boots to a denim ranch dress and her Kindergarten graduation gown—each outfit adding its own touch of charm to the story we told and the backdrops.
We spent time visiting with each of the animals on the ranch—her four-legged friends that she already treats like patients. It takes gentle hands, and joyful spirit. She spoke volumes as she checked the heartbeat of a cow, cuddled her dog, led her horse, and laughed beside a herd of cattle. Her custom props, bells, the tractor, and her family’s heirloom saddle and cattle gave this gallery a layer of rustic richness that I truly love. That saddle, worn from years of work and care, felt like the perfect metaphor for the legacy she’s growing into.
My personal favorites? The denim dress moments out by the water and those against the old green barn—pure magic. This is what photography is about: telling their story now, so they can remember it forever. One day, when Katalina is grown, married, and has little ones of her own, these will be the photos that remind her where it all began.
