Having already photographed Donovan for prom and fall portraits, this spring session was like flipping through the last chapter of a story I’ve loved watching unfold. It felt easy—slow-paced, fun, and familiar.

Fast forward to now: Donovan didn’t know then what he knows now… and that’s the beauty of growth. He is Historian of the Carrizo Springs High School Class of 2025. We wanted to document that in his cap and gown and Historian sash—on the same field where he spent countless hours with the band, performing and making memories. With drumsticks in hand, we tried to create some cool images. That field… always gives some of the best light for portraits.

One of my favorite moments from the session was the University reveal. Donovan is heading to Texas A&M University–Kingsville, and we made sure to mark it with golden hour|blue hour. The sunset didn’t hold back for this one.

Donovan, I can't wait to see you keep rising—staying focused, showing up, and giving God your best. Because you’ve always been willing, and that willingness will take you further than you can imagine.
