The Moncada Family | Holiday Ranch Session

Every family has a rhythm, a legacy, a story worth retelling—and for nearly a decade, I’ve had the joy of documenting the Moncada Family’s. From indoor portraits to colorful themed sessions and wide-open natural style outdoor frames, we’ve done it all. But this year? For me—This one made my top three.

Vick and John always bring such a peaceful presence to their sessions, and their boys. I describe Vick and light hearted, caring, creative and mature, such a awesome individual. I love that she schedules these in every year—John Jay, Jayson, and now little Joaquin—are growing into their story. We returned to the ranch where we once photographed before Joaquin was even born, making this session feel like a full-circle moment. Seeing him now, running beside his big brothers in the same fields we shot years ago, was something special.

South Texas can have some gorgeous light - it showed up just right, pouring through the trees and catching every quiet in-between moment. It’s sessions like these that remind me why I love what I do. The Moncada family isn’t just a client—they’re part of the legacy I get to help preserve.
